The 19th “Sardinia” Beach Wrestling Tournament was a great triumph. The event, held at the Club Ancora in Stintino, offered a unique show in a breathtaking setting, with the crystal clear sea as a backdrop and healthy competition on the hot sand. Some of the best international champions of this emerging discipline challenged each other, providing moments of great spectacularity. Beach wrestling, with its growing popularity, is destined to soon become an Olympic discipline.
Moldova dominated the tournament, demonstrating its indisputable superiority with the participation of numerous world-class medal-winning athletes. The Moldovan team collected medals, conquering the team classification and winning all the finals. The challenges for the top step of the podium offered the public present moments of great emotion and spectacularity.
In the 70 kg category, Nicolai Grahmez obtained the gold medal by prevailing over LeomidColesnic in a thrilling match fought until the last moment. Moldova also triumphed in the 80 kg category with Vasile Diacon, who took the top step of the podium by defeating Marius Retco in a no holds barred match.
The performances of the Moldovan athletes sparked enthusiasm among the spectators, underlining the high level of preparation and talent of the participants and helping to make this event a true spectacle of sport and competition.
The curtain therefore falls on these three intense and exciting days of struggle. But the energy and enthusiasm don’t stop here: starting tomorrow, Stintino will host the training camps organized by the Polisportiva Athlon Sassari. Young athletes from every corner of the world will participate in a full immersion of training under the guidance of international level instructors. The appointment with the “Città di Sassari” and “Sardinia” tournaments is already set for next year, promising new emotions and great challenges.
