Rawat’s is an invitation to move away from the noise of the outside world and from worries to connect with one’s inner world. A simple and practical approach, a message of peace that necessarily starts from within, as Rawat himself tells us in his latest book Learn to Listen to You (2020) published in Italy by BUR Rizzoli and presented in Milan in 2020 by Filippa Lagerback.

For fifty years the mission of Prem Rawat, an internationally renowned author and popularizer, has been to bring a message throughout the world: It’s not the world that needs peace, it’s the people. When the people of the world feel at peace within themselves, the world will be at peace. Born in India in 1957, the son of a well-known orator who passed away when Prem Rawat was still a child, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by carrying on and disseminating his teachings. He was only thirteen years old when he arrived in England where he achieved immediate and widespread success, followed by the years of moving to the United States where he settled with the family who in the meantime created and continued his tireless activity as a wandering popularizer which continues today .

In 2001 Prem Rawat created a foundation that bears his name The Prem Rawat Foundation – TPRFwhose mission is not only to meet basic human needs such as food, water and education, but above all to satisfy the often overlooked need for peace.

Through i programs of the foundation it was possible to share and expand Rawat’s teachings, including more vulnerable people, with Food For People the foundation has intervened in India, Nepal and Ghana and above all the Peace Education Program (PEP)a program of educational courses designed for contexts that host fragile communities such as, for example, rehabilitation facilities, mental health centers, penal institutions, refugee centers, hospitals.

The courses of PEPbased on ten fundamental themes of Rawat’s teachings (peace, ability to appreciate, inner strength, self-awareness, clarity, understanding, dignity, ability to choose, hope and happiness) are today spread in over 75 countries around the world; In Italy in 2021 it was signed in the Senate an agreement to apply the PEP educational protocol in prisons (for example in Venice, both male and female, Opera in Milan, Rebibbia and Regina Coeli in Rome, in the Latina prison, both male and female and others starting in the next autumn) where they proved to be an effective rehabilitation tool.

Collaterally the foundation also created PEP EDUto extend the peace education program to schools which at the moment in Italy have seen three pilot projects in Tuscany, Sicily and Veneto.

Attendance at Rawat events has reached extraordinary numbersits dissemination through all media, TV and radio, press, training courses, web content, online courses, podcasts is estimated to have reached overall over a billion people. His YouTube channels have over 500,000 subscribers and over 110 million views, while at Gaya in India in 2023 he spoke to an audience of almost 380,000 people, earning the new world record certified by the Guinness World Record for the largest audience present at a conference.

Finally, Prem Rawat has received numerous international awards and recognitions; special honors and honorary citizenships, official mentions, public proclamations and nominations as ambassadors of peace are just a part of the demonstrations of esteem received all over the world from England to Brazil, Peru to Malaysia to the United States to New Zealand.
