Spinazzola protagonist at the Grimaldi Historic Sites meeting

Last weekend it took place in Montecarlo, in Place du Palais, The 5th Meeting of the Grimaldi Historic Sites of Monaco, first edition in which Italian municipalities also participate. A party to strengthen the friendship with His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and promote the territories that boast a common past with the Grimaldi family. The bond that unites Spinazzola and the Grimaldi family is to be found in the history of the Garagnone Castle, granted in 1532 to the Grimaldi family by Charles V and owned by the Monegasque dynasty for over a century. The Sovereign, visiting the village on Saturday, appreciated the gastronomic excellences of the Murgia municipality, indulging in numerous photos and handshakes with exhibitors and visitors. Also on display are typical Spinazzolesi products, from the traditional knife-point sausage with extra virgin olive oil, from artisanal pasta to wine, pistachios and then haute couture and local craftsmanship productions.

“A prestigious showcase – declared the mayor of Spinazzola, Michele Patruno – which has allowed our excellences to network and make themselves known and appreciated in a broader and international market. Our food and artisan productions and our music have won over all the visitors to the village set up in Monte Carlo. We received the long-awaited visit to the village from HSH Prince Albert II who paid particular attention to the quality of our productions. I thank the President of the Historic Sites Association Fulvio Gazzola and the organizers of the event for this important promotional opportunity for our city and for the activities of our territory. We work to make Spinazzola a place full of opportunities again and it was an immense emotion to be able to see the enthusiasm and satisfaction on the faces of all the participants. An opportunity that will soon expand to other city areas because growing together is our goal. A city that is finally aware of its capabilities will have no choice but to continue to grow.”

The dinner in the shade of the Palace offered by the Sovereign to all participants and which closed the 2 days was scenic and full of charm. A moment of conviviality in a magical atmosphere in which the guests shared anecdotes, stories and traditions of their communities and strengthened that bond of friendship and mutual esteem that binds the communities of the Grimaldi Historic Sites Association.
