As is now customary in the post-Covid era, pre-season testing was reduced to just three days and also changed location, moving from Barcelona to Bahrain. This is also in order to contain costs and carry out the tests directly on the site which will then host the first race of the World Championship the following week. In 2025, however, it will be theAustralia to resume the inaugural stage of the championship, six years after the last time. Carrying out the tests in Melbourne would, for obvious reasons, be rather expensive so the FIA is evaluating whether to continue in the Sakhir desert or return to Barcelona for the tests that will take place from Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th February.

Seven teams (Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Alpine, Haas, Williams and Aston Martin) would prefer to continue collecting data in Bahrainwhile the remaining Three (Red Bull, VCARB and Sauber) on the Catalan circuit. The official decision has not yet been made known, but the destination in the Middle East would be in pole position.
