The Lama Balice Regional Natural Park has activated a procedura open for the selection of two voluntary associations with environmental purposes to be involved in support activities to fight fires (prevention, sighting and monitoring) within the park territory in the period 1 July – 30 September 2024 (period declared by the Puglia Region of serious risk for summer fires in wooded, bushy, tree-lined and pasture areas).
In the case of associations with their own fleet of cars, the commitment required is to guarantee fire spotting activities for at least 14 hours a day (from 7am to 9pm) with an operational and coordination base in the Villa Framarino headquarters and in the area which develops from the mouth of the Bari sea to the beginning of the town of Bitonto.
Associations that are equipped with slow mobility vehicles are required, however, to guarantee fire spotting activities for at least 12 hours a day (from 8am to 8pm) with an operational and coordination base in the Villa Framarino headquarters and for a route of at least 3.5 kilometers both towards the sea and towards the mountains.
In both cases the associations will have to participate in the scheduled firefighting coordinations ad horas from the Park management, be available on a mobile telephone line and be able to immediately activate, in the event of sighting the beginning of a fire, the emergency numbers of the Fire Brigade (115), the Forestry Carabinieri (1515), the Local Police of Bari (0805491331), the Local Police of Bitonto (0803751014) and the Park Management (0805412971);
The selected subjects will be granted a maximum contribution of 2 thousand euros to account for the expenses incurred.
Interested associations will have until 1pm on 24 June 2024 to send the application for admission and all the necessary documentationindicated in the relevant agreement scheme, at the PEC address [email protected]indicating as the object “AIB 2024 Associations Campaign Application”.
