“Liguria in Vetrina” at Palazzo Imperiale ten French buyers from the food, furniture and tableware sectors

The event, supported by the Liguria Region through Liguria International and organized by Confartigianato Liguria and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Marseille, has already seen the signing of the first agreements between French buyers and Ligurian artisan businesses

Excellent Ligurian companies meet France. “Liguria in Vetrina” took place today at Palazzo Imperiale, the event that brought ten French buyers to Genoa interested in purchasing products from the food, furniture and tableware sectors.

“The initiative aims to encourage the internationalization of Ligurian companies to promote “Made in Liguria” in the world – explains the councilor for Economic Development Alessio Piana – The companies involved in the initiative are small and medium-sized companies, adhering to the Artigiani brand in Liguria and often family-run, offering niche and very high quality products. Companies that today are called upon to face global markets and to do so they need all the possible support from institutions and associations. As a Region we have put in place specific tenders to support them in their growth, strengthen them and give them support to face the new digital and foreign markets. In particular, today’s initiative was included within the 2024 Implementation Plan of Liguria International to structure, together with trade associations and businesses, a path to promote typical products and peculiarities of the territory capable of giving strength to the entire “Liguria system” and create new development opportunities on international markets”.

The ten buyers present in Genoa represent all the French geographical areas. During the morning’s work they have already signed new partnerships and started collaborations with the artisan businesses present at Palazzo Imperiale.

“For Liguria, France represents the first export market in Europe (9.07%) and the buyers present in these two days are experiencing first-hand the “Ligurian know-how” – states Luca Costi, regional secretary of Confartigianato Liguria. – We are proud to make our excellence known, particularly valorising companies with the “Artigiani In Liguria” brand and to help even the smallest companies to approach the challenge of internationalisation. The interest of French buyers and the agreements that are already taking shape confirm that we are on the right path.”

The two days continues tomorrow with a visit to local companies to discover Zoagli velvets and the Chiavarina chair and two food companies in the Genoa area belonging to the chocolate making and baking sectors.
