“The first 1000 golden days”, the childcare book by Professor Carlo Valerio Bellieni. There are a thousand days that go from conception to two years of life: from the embryo to the child who speaks and walks. It is a fundamental period, because the vital matter – which develops with an unrepeatable impetus in this period of time – receives, both from the genetic heritage and from the environment, indelible signs, which will forever remain characteristic of the individual.

These and others are the topics at the center of the book “The first 1000 golden days. Childcare for parents and for those who care for children” by Professor Carlo Valerio Bellieni, which will be presented on Wednesday 19 June at 6 pm in the Aula Magna of the Rectorate building of the University of Siena (Banchi di Sotto, 55).

At the presentation of the childcare book “The first 1000 golden days. Childcare for parents and those who take care of children” will participate, in addition to Professor Carlo Bellieni, pediatrician and author of the book, the Rector of the University of Siena Roberto Di Pietra, the delegate to the third mission, Chiara Mocenni, the director of School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Paola Piomboni; together with Salvatore Grosso, director of the Paediatrics Unit and Barbara Tomasini, director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Sienese University Hospital. The program includes in-depth studies by, as well as the author,: Chiara Perusi, midwife; Linda Badii, nurse; Federica Dolce, dietician.

We read in the note to the volume, published by Ancora Editrice: The author provides many notions ranging from psychology to chemistry, from physiology to pedagogy, which allow parents and those who care for children to become aware of the many aspects that characterize this period extraordinary; furthermore he gives useful advice for facing “the first 1000 golden days” with serenity and joy. The text is aimed at parents and family members who often find themselves in great difficulty in understanding how not to make mistakes in the early stages of the life of a newborn or soon-to-be child. But the meeting, with free admission, is open to all interested parties.
