CORDENONS – The great international padel is coming to Cordenons. Eurosporting will host the Fip Rise Cordenons from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd June, the fourth edition of the tournament included in the 2024 Cupra Fit Tour calendar. Almost eighty couples divided between the men’s and women’s competitions will liven up the structure in Viale del Benessere for five days, which confirms itself as a point of reference in the area for the discipline.

The event was presented this morning at Eurosporting in front of various political and sporting authorities: the mayor and vice-mayor of Cordenons Andrea Delle Vedove and Andrea Serio, the regional councilor of Friuli Venezia Giulia Lucia Buna and the regional councilor of Fitp Claudio Bortoletto. With them also Sabina Da Ponte, padel teacher and Eurosporting player, silver at the senior world championships in Alicante, as well as Serena Raffin, manager of the Pordenone structure.

The tournament will start with two days of qualifiers, which will lead to the highlight of the event, scheduled for Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd, when the main draw matches will be scheduled. During the final day the semi-finals will be played in the morning and the finals in the afternoon. The expected prize money is 12,500 euros.

In all, 45 couples in the men’s competition and 30 in the women’s competition have signed up for the Fip Rise: a list that can still be replenished by those players who, having left the scene at the Bnl Italy Major Premier Padel in Rome, scheduled for Monday 17 June , they will be able to take part in the main draw of the Friulian event.

Among the top specialists who will be present in Cordenons, it is worth highlighting the Brazilian Francisco De Paula Nunes Gomes, top seed of the event and number 115 in the world. Pay attention to the French couple formed by Manuel Vives (159 in the world) and Julien Seurin (180), while the participation of Rodrigo Coello Manso, brother of the world number 1 Arturo, stands out. Among the women, the top seeded duo Margarida Fernandes-Catarina Santos (107 in the world ranking) and the player number 98 in the world ranking, the Spanish Lucia Garcia Trella, promise a show. Among those registered is also the Italian Letizia Dell’Agnese, born in Pordenone and raised as a padel player at Eurosporting Cordenons.

A 300-seat grandstand will be set up for the tournament. Entrance to the matches is free. From the round of 16 onwards, i.e. from the afternoon of Saturday 22nd, the matches will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the International Padel Federation.
