Shortly after 12 today, the Port Authority of Trieste was alerted by the fire in the engines of a boat moored at the small port of Barcola.

Giuliano sent a land team to the site, departing from the headquarters in Via D’Alviano, and the team of Nautical Specialists on board the new VF S0002 vessel, which entered service at the nautical detachment of the Porto Vecchio of Trieste just 2 days ago.
Having arrived at the reported location within a few minutes, the Nautical Specialists found that the fire, which had affected the engine compartment of a vessel of approximately 10 metres, had already been extinguished by the owner of the boat who had used the on-board fire extinguishers. The firefighters then proceeded to verify that there was no residual fire and proceeded to cool the burned parts. The fire, the causes of which are still being ascertained, did not involve people or other boats. On site, as far as they are responsible, personnel from the Port Authority of Trieste and healthcare personnel.
