Assemini has been the City of Folklore since yesterday

“A recognition and thanks to all the citizens and folk associations who have made this recognition possible for over 70 years” expressed the mayor Mario Puddu.

“It’s not a beginning, but even less an end.

An honor but also a responsibility for us who manage it so that we don’t miss any opportunity to keep our traditions alive and strong”.

Traditions and identities, in short, very characteristic of the community that always knows how to bind citizens in order to conserve, preserve and pass on the most precious customs and traditions. Not only that: there is also space for artistic and culinary identities, the city of the metropolitan area of Cagliari has so much that deserves to be valorised. For today, in fact, the Sagra de sa Panada Asseminesa is scheduled.

“With this event it is our intention to clearly mark the direction we want to give to our historic centre.

Compared to other years, in which the event took place and was concentrated in St. Peter’s Square, we decided to involve the entire historic center, with the aim of enhancing the ancient homes of Assemini.

The hope is to create a mixture in which, in symbiosis with our architectural heritage, our artisans and artists from Assemini coexist.

The main protagonist will be our Panada, but it will be surrounded by artisans, ceramists, artists and other historical professions from Assemini.

And our local, folkloristic, cultural and social associations will not fail to make their contribution.

This of the Sagra de sa Panada is a first stone that we throw to give the Historic Center (including St. Peter’s Square) the right tribute and relaunch (also in terms of restructuring), which acts as a stimulus both for the private sector and for us, the administration, that we have a duty to manage public affairs.”
