A decisive issue in the course of the investigation which aims to shed light on the death of a young researcher, seven days ago in the waters of Posillipo. Enough to push the Naples Prosecutor’s Office to order the acquisition of two cell phones: they belong to the lawyer Guido Furgiuele, the criminal lawyer under investigation who was probably driving the vessel that was seized; and to the other protagonist of this story, namely the lawyer who survived the collision, the athlete and Cristina’s adventure companion, who was on board the kayak overwhelmed by the arrival of the boat. A decisive move, that of the acquisition of mobile phones. Investigation conducted by prosecutor Vincenzo Toscano, under the coordination of deputy prosecutor Raffaello Falcone, aims to establish the space-time coordinates of this affair. Seven days ago the clash in Posillipo, with a boat hitting the canoe. At first the accident had been traced back to the area off the coast of Trentaremi. Then the picture changed. The area affected by the accident should be that close to the ridge of Villa Rosebery, the Neapolitan residence of the head of state. We are between three hundred and five hundred meters from the coast, therefore in a broad but decisive spectrum to ascertain the responsibilities of the fact, to reconstruct the dynamics and – what is not secondary – the level of guilt of those who were driving. A story that also deals with another series of details. Those emerged from the autopsy. Two days ago the unrepeatable investigation confirmed that Cristina was killed by the boat’s propellers.
And again on Friday, checks were carried out on the boat that had been seized, but also on the kayak used by the two athletes in the waters of the sea of Posillipo. Checks in progress, the aim is to crystallize elements that could be valuable. But let’s go back to the story of the cell phone seizure. What are investigators looking for? Traces from the chats, perhaps photographs or videos contained in the albums of the two boys’ cell phones. As is known, both Cristina and her canoe sitting companion had a cell phone. The researcher herself had posted photos before she died. Among these, the images of the villa where Un posto al sole has been filmed for years. Shots and posts (one on Instagram) that could be useful for geolocalizing the event. Traces that now belong to the Naples Prosecutor’s Office, thanks to the full availability offered by the lawyers of the parties involved. Defended by the Neapolitan criminal lawyer and teacher Alfonso Furgiuele, the boater under investigation was cooperative from the very beginning of this story. He underwent an interrogation, in which he gave his own version: «I didn’t notice anything. There were seven of us on the boat, but no one noticed. I was spotted by one of my guests, who was in the stern, when we saw the man overboard I intervened. In a few minutes – between five and six minutes – the rescue took place. We didn’t waste a moment and called the coast guard.” Now the word goes to the Prosecutor’s Office. In sixty days, the results of the autopsy. Defended by the criminal lawyer Giordano (appointed by the Giesse agency, which handles the interests on behalf of the Frazzica family), Cristina’s relatives ask for rapid and rigorous investigations. With dignity and decorum, they were in Court last Friday: we are not asking for revenge, we want to know who or what caused Cristina’s death.
Meanwhile, the funeral of Cristina Frazzica are scheduled in the Cathedral of San Lorenzo in Voghera at 11am. Today at 5.30pm a rosary will be held in the Cathedral, to embrace the young researcher bewitched by Naples.
