As I already said during the election campaign, the good of the city goes beyond any political division.” Thus the new mayor of Prato, Ilaria Bugetti, comments on the proposal launched yesterday by the Forza Italia deputy who wrote to her to launch the idea of a meeting to define a common strategy on the major issues affecting the city.
A proposal to strengthen the Prato-Rome axis that Bugetti had already hypothesized in recent weeks in the belief that a dialogue with local parliamentarians is fundamental to open a constructive discussion with the national government and with Brussels: “This is how the city wins. – states Bugetti – When the political forces of the territory go beyond their ideological barriers to team up on macro projects and particular problems, Prato is strengthened. It has already happened, even recently with the 10 million euros provided by the Draghi government for the textile district. It can happen again if we really want it.”
Mazzetti puts infrastructure, regeneration, safety, projects financed by the Pnrr and plant engineering on the agenda of the meeting. Important themes and issues that meet with the favor of Mayor Bugetti: “Let’s also clash fiercely over the political vision we have of the city, over the electoral programmes, over the ideas; but there are issues that do not and must not have color because they affect citizens across the board. We work side by side on these, we compare, we discuss and finally we summarize to arrive in Rome with a single voice. Mazzetti’s proposal, therefore, not only makes me very happy but I also welcome it with great interest. Going beyond political affiliation and electoral outcomes is not easy. Therefore I thank you for demonstrating a sense of institutions and the common good.”
As soon as possible, therefore, Bugetti will schedule an appointment with the Prato deputy.
