Businesses and generational transition: the BCC Veneta meeting in Pescantina

Looking to the future to encourage business and family continuity. This is the title of the meeting promoted by BCC Veneta in collaboration with Confiditer, Cesaro&Associati and EffePartners scheduled for Monday 17 June at 5.15 pm at Parc Hotel in Peschiera del Garda (VR).

«A topic that is particularly felt by businesses and at this moment also by the Banks, especially by the mutual banks that work closely with local entrepreneurs – explains Flavio Piva, President of BCC Veneta -. Accompanying companies in this delicate transition from the care of fathers to that of children is very important for us, to preserve a close relationship with companies, to guarantee turnover in operational continuity, but also to protect employment aspects and social impact at a local level . On this – continues Piva – the BCC is working to offer a whole series of technical tools for consultancy, coaching and support for a solid corporate culture, which is capable of self-determination”.

The appointments have started in recent days with a meeting in Pescantina, where 70 entrepreneurs were present: a clear sign that the topic is attracting interest.

«Operationally as a Bank we experience business stories first-hand every day and we take on many problems together with our entrepreneurs – explains the Deputy Director of BCC Veneta, Renato Zampieri -. Of the approximately 35 thousand family businesses involved in a generational transition in a year, on average only 30% survive with the second generation and just 12% with the third. Somewhat worrying percentages at a national level. In Veneto, 80% of family businesses fail to even reach the third generational transition. Our training initiative, but also support and the proposal of qualified consultancy tools, is therefore an excellent vehicle for understanding the phenomenon and related risks. A collective awareness – underlines Zampieri – so as not to find ourselves in a few years with problems that are difficult to manage, even as a Bank. If we want to protect the territory and work in a virtuous and networked driving force, we must know how to grasp solutions and proposals and be of support to our entrepreneurs and managers of the future.”

Paolo Artelio, Confiditer President and Franco Cesaro, university professor and founder of Cesaro & Associati will speak on Monday 17th in Peschiera. Moderated by Franco Ferrarini, Senior Partner of Effepartners.
