New gas network, how inconveniences in via Gorizia will be limited. Meanwhile, the asphalting continues at Romiti, Cava and Ospedaletto

After those in Viale Bologna and Via Firenze, the restoration work on the road pavement in the Romiti and Cava districts will also resume on Monday 17 June, after a short break and at the request of the Municipality; at the Ospedaletto, in via Lughese the start is scheduled for Monday 8 July, while in via Monte San Michele the construction site will start once some interventions by other operators have been completed. Asphalts that will put an end to the works, which began during the two-year period 2022 and 2023, to renew a large part of the gas distribution networks in these areas of Forlì. Inrete Distribuzione Energia will proceed with the asphalting of over 112 thousand square metres, for a total of 68 roads distributed in the Romiti, Cava and Ospedaletto districts.

The works in via Gorizia

Coinciding with the end of the school term, work will begin on 17 June for the laying of the new water and gas pipelines, carried out by Inrete Distribuzione Energia, the Hera Group company that manages the natural gas distribution activity, in via Gorizia, in the San Benedetto district of Forlì. The network redevelopment interventions will affect the stretch between the roundabout of via Monte San Michele and via Lughese and will lead to the renewal of approximately 800 m of pipes and the replacement of over 45 user connections

The works will involve the entire roadway and vehicular traffic will be prohibited, with the exception of emergency vehicles, until mid-September, the period in which the section of Via Gorizia affected by the works is expected to reopen. During the construction site, which will advance in sections of 100 meters at a time to minimize inconvenience to traffic, access to alternative roads will be guaranteed in the following parallel streets: Monte Pasubio, Monte Cismon, Monte Sei Busi, Bainsizza, Carso, Domokos and Edolo .

Changes to bus lines

As regards scheduled public transport, the route of urban line 8 will be flexibly adapted to the various stages of progress of the works, trying to minimize inconvenience for residential areas. During the closure phase of the section of via Gorizia between via Monte San Michele and via Monte Pasubio, the line will be diverted to via Cadore, confirming the terminus of via Schio but skipping the three stops of via Gorizia (Monte Pasubio, Carso and San Benedetto ) and that of Via Lunga.

When the closure affects the stretch between via Monte Pasubio and via Domokos, line 8 will run along via Monte Pasubio, Scaldarancio, Valstagna and Domokos: two pairs of temporary stops will be positioned along the deviation in via Scaldarancio and via Valstagna, replacing the two stops Monte Pasubio and Carso. Finally, during the closure of the section of via Gorizia between via Domokos and via Lunga, the buses will be diverted to via Domokos and Val Posina and the service will be restored at the Monte Pasubio and Carso stops, so as to limit them to two (San Benedetto and Lunga ) the stops not served. The extra-urban line 153 (serving the areas of Villafranca, Roncadello and Barisano) will instead be diverted to via Cadore for the entire period of the works, to guarantee uniformity of service times.

A multi-year plan worth over 50 million euros to replace 120 km of gas pipelines

The asphalting works, agreed with the Municipality of Forlì, will last until the end of October and are part of the important agreement signed by Inrete and Unica Reti, the municipal company that owns the gas networks, for an extraordinary multi-year plan to replace obsolete or of non-compliant material, in line with the provisions of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (Arera). This gas network renewal plan will involve overall investments estimated at over 50 million euros planned by Inrete Distribuzione Energia, to which Unica Reti contributed with an initial financing of 8 million euros. This is an important financial commitment which, as it does not burden the budget of the Municipality of Forlì, will not lead to higher tariffs for citizens.
