With his travels between suggestive villages, fairy-tale villages and breathtaking places on TV and on the web he continues to exalt Italian and foreign beauties. Osvaldo Bevilacqua, journalist, appreciated author and television presenter, holder of the Guinness World TV Record since 2015 for the 40 uninterrupted years of Sereno Variabile, over time has contributed to enhancing the Romagna coast. Among the stops also Riccione, a city that he has frequented since childhood and which will see him return this summer. While waiting for his new docufilm, which will be broadcast on Rai and on TV in over 50 countries, his wife has already booked cots and umbrella.

Is Riccione in your heart?

“Always. I have the most beautiful memories of my life in Riccione. My love for this city and for the Romagna coast is profound, because here I lived my childhood, adolescence and early youth. ‘Arciun’ for me is has always been a bulwark, a symbol of fun, hospitality and affection of the people of Romagna”.

An anecdote?

“As a boy we went to the Palazzo del Turismo to get the ‘jars with the air of Riccione’, an extraordinary invention! I remember the employees, pillars of the tourist office, Marina Giannini and Gloria Saponi. Those were the years in which from Germany and also From Eastern countries, especially from Yugoslavia, entire buses full of beautiful girls arrived. Gloria’s father, a movie character, when they got off the bus he turned on the radio at full volume to listen to Romagna mia and started dancing in the middle of the crowd. road, blocking traffic. Extraordinary! I was lucky enough to know Bepi Savioli, to hang out with him, making the necessary differences, I could describe him a little to the lawyer Agnelli and his entrepreneurial sense to the Briatore today”.

Here he experienced a particular moment.

“It was the period in which from a student at the University of Urbino I became a teacher, I came to prepare for exams. It was fun getting ready on the beach in Riccione, even taking a few dips. At the time there were numerous clubs and I spent the time with my many friends from Rome, Bologna and Lombardy, we enjoyed playing pranks, something that I still love very much, so much so that my sons Gabriele (14 years old) and Giorgio (16), who were also in love with the Perla Verde, also loved it. live happily I always say: play at least a couple of pranks a day”.

He also shared a critical period in Riccione.

“That of the mucilage that affected this coast, risking ruining the work of hundreds of families. A disaster. I was contacted to help with the promotion. Someone wanted me to talk about the sea without mentioning the mucilage, impossible. So I proposed to focus on fun and it went well. Luckily that phenomenon ended soon, the situation of the sea is now extraordinary, on the coast you can see the results of the environmental policy implemented throughout the territory”.

Can you still meet her in Riccione?

“I always want to go back. For some years I have been a diplomat from San Marino (to be precise, Plenipotentiary Minister at the disposal of the San Marino diplomatic corps). When I can, I commute and return to the coast which is a point of reference for me”.
