The climate you don’t expect. The complex interactions between the various environmental factors have led our planet to shape itself over millions of years, passing through gigantic volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, meteorites and upheavals of all kinds. The environment we see today is the result of a long list of dramatic events, also punctuated by long moments of tranquility, within which various living species have thrived. Today it’s our turn, the latest arrivals. On geological time scales we are like the blink of an eye, but we are already making our mark. The technological development of the last two centuries has given humankind the ability to shape the environment in depth, but our action has a price and we are seeing it every day. The climate is changing, as always, but in the equation of change the human factor has become predominant. So what awaits us? This book aims to illustrate the current situation by describing in a simple way the results of the most significant research, those that give us traces of the state of health of our planet. Ample space is also given to the vision of the future, with some ideas on how to combat the most critical aspects of climate change. A journey between the past and future of our climate. Disaster? Salvation? The two destinies are largely in our hands, it is up to us to choose the path.

Free admission.
