Cesena, 15 June 2024 – Tragedy along the E45. Around 6.15 pm yesterday on the stretch of the expressway that crosses the Cesena area at the height of hamlet of San Carlo, Luciano Marani, Cesena of 84 years old, he lost his life following a accident which saw him involved. It is still too early to fully clarify the dynamics of what happened, but from an initial reconstruction of the facts, carried out by the agents of the Police who intervened on site to take care of the findings, it seems that the collision was caused by a skid.

In that stretch there is two-way traffic and the Panda driven by Marani was traveling towards Rome it would have collided with a truck which came from the opposite direction.
In addition to the two vehicles it was a Kawasaki motorcycle was also involved whose driver fortunately did not suffer serious injuries. The same goes for the woman who was driving the heavy vehicle. The E45 was closed at kilometer 16,200, with mandatory exits southbound at the San Carlo junction and northbound at the Borello Nord junction, to allow the roadway to be made safe.
Marani was a man very well known in the city. He had been an entrepreneur in theroad haulage and in that too real estate. For example, the creation of the ‘Cesena Anni Novanta’ complex, located between Via Angeloni and Via Piave, in the city centre, is linked to him. Passionate about sports, he had been at the top of Ahena Cesena, the women’s basketball team that had won the scudetto, Champions Cup and Ronchetti Cup, writing a page in the history of basketball destined to remain immortal.
