Angela wears a pair of dark glasses, at her side Luigi holds her hand. They are the parents of Cristina Frazzica, the 30-year-old researcher hit by a boat while she was kayaking in Posillipo. Yesterday, husband and wife crossed the entrance to the Palace of Justice in Naples locked in their silence, also accompanied by the twin sister of the daughter they have now lost.
The couple arrived at the court around 1pm where the assignment of tasks for non-repeatable technical checks took place. A decisive step, that of the tests that were carried out in the afternoon, almost simultaneously, on the young woman’s body, subjected to autopsy and toxicological tests, and on the 18 meter vessel which would have impacted the kayak. A step defined by technical investigations for which the presence in court of the 30-year-old’s family members was not necessary who, instead, maintaining a composed pain, wanted to be present and participate in all the investigative activities to arrive “to the truth about Cristina’s death”.
The autopsy
The autopsy on the body di Cristina started at 2.30 pm in the Forensic Medicine department of the Polyclinic federiciano after the conclusion of the assignment of the tasks for the non-repeatable technical assessments which, in the case of the young woman’s family members, made use of the medical-legal consultancy of Maurizio Saliva. The autopsy findings, concluded late in the evening, will clarify one of the fundamental points of the investigation since the possible immediate death of the young woman could be ascertained or, on the contrary, the hypothesis could take shape that by rescuing her she could have been saved. «It will take between 60 and 90 days to obtain the answers from the autopsy and toxicological tests and only with the established scientific data will we be able to begin to identify the essential points on which to base this procedure, which is strongly characterized by the technical aspects of the case” explained Gianluca Giordano, lawyer of the Forum of Santa Maria Capua Vetere who represents and defends the researcher’s family. “The presence of Cristina’s parents in court – added the lawyer – was an act of participation in the investigations and of great closeness to the Neapolitan prosecutor’s office in which they have great trust and a sense of collaboration”.
The boat
Yesterday afternoon, almost at the same time, the clinical exams took place on Cristina and the reliefs on the vessel of Guido Furgiuelethe Neapolitan lawyer investigated for the investment in the sea of 30 years old. Also in this case, it will take some time before answers can emerge from the technical investigations but among the elements to be detected immediately there could be the acquisition of the black box. «We still don’t know if there is a black box and we are waiting for the technical times of the findings, following all the steps with our consultants, we must note that from the beginning there has been collaboration on the part of the suspect and specify that the family members of Christina they are not looking for a culprit, nor revenge but only truth and justice for their daughter” explains Giordano who underlines how “Cristina loved the sea and was an expert in nautical activities for which she held technical patents”.
