Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with its rich food and wine heritage, is preparing to celebrate the excellence of the territory through the innovative initiative “Flavors of Friuli Venezia Giulia“. Promoted by the Agrifood FVG Foundation in collaboration with PromoTurismoFVG, this campaign includes a tour in ten stages of a truck equipped for show cooking and tastings. The goal is promote local products under the “Io Sono Friuli-Venezia Giulia” brand and promote the integration between food and wine and tourism.

Governor Fedriga’s comment

The governor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, highlighted the importance of this initiative during the press conference held at the Palazzo della Regione. Fedriga underlined how “Sapori di Friuli Venezia Giulia” is a unique opportunity to enhance the culinary and wine diversity of the region. “We are a small region with an enormous heritage of diversity to be valorised”declared Fedriga, adding that the initiative will help differentiate regional tourism by focusing on quality and zero kilometer products.

Collaboration between public and private, The role of Despar Nord

The councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism, Sergio Emidio Bini, defined this initiative as a “winning collaboration between public and private”. The involvement of Despar Nord, represented by the regional director Fabrizio Cicero, highlights how local businesses can significantly contribute to the promotion of the territory. “Despar Nord has been able to give a lot back to the territory, integrating perfectly with its resources”Bini said.

The “Flavors of Friuli Venezia Giulia” tour in 10 stages

The food and wine truck tour will start on June 23 from Lignano Sabbiadoro, and then touching nine other locations including Sappada, Malborghetto, Majano, Trieste, Pordenone, Tolmezzo, Udine, Gemona and ending on 7 and 8 December in Gorizia. Each stop will offer the public the opportunity to attend show cooking, taste typical products and get to know local producers up close.

The rand “I am Friuli-Venezia Giulia”

Pier Giorgio Sturlese, president of the Agrifood FVG Foundation, recalled that the brands “I am Friuli-Venezia Giulia” is constantly growing, currently representing more than 750 companies and over a thousand products. This brand is synonymous with quality and authenticity, fundamental elements for promoting the territory nationally and internationally.
