Casola Valsenio and Riolo Terme: a ceremony to thank the radio amateurs who worked during the flood

Sunday 16 June at 10:00 the Administrations of Casola Valsenio and Riolo Terme, in the presence of the Prefect of Ravenna Castrese De Rosa and the Civil Protection authorities, will present the Radio Amateurs of the ARI sections of Imola and Ravenna with plaques of thanks for the work carried out during the month of May 2023. The ceremony will take place at the Monte Ghebbio repeater, in Riolo Terme. Immediately after May 16, 2023, the technical skills and tools of Amateur Radio proved to be fundamental in keeping the Senio Valley connected once telecommunications were interrupted.

Continuity of communications was guaranteed thanks to the radio link of the Monte Ghebbio repeater, preventing Casola, Riolo Terme and Brisighella from being isolated, contributing to coordination operations and rescue operations for people stuck in their homes due to landslides. Therefore, the Administrations of Casola Valsenio and Riolo Terme invite all citizens to join in thanking the Italian Radio Amateur Association. In addition to the delivery of the thank you plaques, a commemorative plaque will be placed at the foot of the Monte Ghebbio Radio Bridge.

To reach the place there will be shuttles departing from 9:20 to 10:20 from the headquarters of the Civil Protection Volunteers Association of Riolo Terme, in via Berlinguer. The return by shuttle will be possible from 10.45 to 11.45.
