Excited, in tears, they look into each other’s eyes and say: “All ours!”. The small one Carlotta and her mother Erika D’Amico are the winners of I Canto Familythe show hosted by Michelle Hunziker ended yesterday evening, Wednesday 12 June, on Canale 5. Carlotta and Erika, in the final, challenged Sara and father Davide, but the jury and the public awarded them the victory.
Michelle Hunziker announced the win of the 50 thousand euro prize, adding: “I am very happy for you.” The money will be used for Carlotta’s studies. Mother and daughter also received the prize of R101, and warmly thanked everyone. Behind the scenes, Carlotta, very close to her mother, commented: «I’m very happy. We bonded with everyone, I’m very happy». And again: «Mum is sunny, she lights up my life».
During the final of I Canto Familymother Erika looked back on their participation in the program: «For us it’s a dream, I was very excited singing the song Mariposabecause it reflects a lot of my life, what I experienced with Carlotta.”
Their path, in fact, was not always smooth: Erika got pregnant when she was very young. «No woman is ready to become a mother at 17», he explained. «I always tried to do my best, but the difficulties became greater and greater. Thinking for yourself, thinking for two is increasingly difficult, but when I look at her she is the result of all my efforts, she is my joy».
With Roberto, the little girl’s father, it ended quickly: «We broke up when Carlotta was little. It hasn’t been easy, but he’s growing well. And she’s happy like that.” Now Erika is experiencing a new love together with Manuela, with whom she has been a couple for a couple of years now. Theirs has become a very complicit and close-knit family: «We do many things together», explained mother Erika. “I’m happy to live with them.”
