He wins by just six votes: a duel down to the last vote in Chiomonte – Turin News

Municipal elections 2024: a Chiomonte is reconfirmed Roberto Garbati leading the list “For Chiomonte”.

The municipal elections of Chiomonte saw the victory of Roberto Garnati. Elected already in May 2019, he returned to the helm of the city, totaling 50.57% of the votes, beating his opponent Lucrezia Bono, of the list “The house of the Municipality”.

The challenge, however, was a duel until the last vote. With a turnout of 70% (550 voters out of 779), the gap was six points: Garbanti obtained 266 votes, Good 260. A minimal difference, with 14 invalid ballots but none contested.

The mayor bis is thus preparing to face his second mandate, even if the elections have shown a clear difference split in the country, which will have to be taken into account.

But who are the protagonists of this new administration?

The majority councillors
The victory of the list “For Chiomonte” guaranteed the presence of seven majority councillors. Remo Sibille received 30 votes, making him the most voted on the list. Followed by Rossano Martin with 25 votes, Francesco Labianca and Sergio Meyer, both with 19 votes, Andrea Gozzelino with 17 votes, Filippo Leone with 15 votes and Beatriz Robetzi Fassetta with 13 votes.

The minority
Despite Garbati’s victory, the list “The Town Hall” obtained a good electoral response, ensuring the presence of two minority councillors. Roberto Perol and Alessandro Strano, both with 33 votes, will represent the opposition within the city council.
