Sernio (Sondrio), 13 June 2024 – Tragedy this afternoon, Thursday 13 June, along the Stelvio state road, in the province of Sondrio. The alarm went off just before 5pm this afternoon. According to what was reported by Areu (Regional Emergency Emergency Agency) one apecar – for reasons still under investigation – it went off the road and ended up in the Adda riverat the height of Sernio dam. According to initial information, there were two people on board the car. A womanthe details of which are not currently known, is dead.
Rescuers along the canal
A 95-year-old man in code yellow rescued. The elderly man was taken to hospital in Sondalo, with trauma to his face and skull. It is not known who was driving the vehicle that ended up in the river water and who was in the passenger seat. Rescue vehicles intervened on site (with helicopter, medical car, ambulance brigade).
