The memory of last summer’s vast fire, which started from some brushwood, is still vivid via Elorina and which threatened part of the south-west area of the city, and today, a fire in the area which was supposed to become a tourist port but which, in fact, has been a landfill for over a decade, is sowing panic by releasing columns of smoke.
Here we go again, in short, and before similar episodes happen again, those responsible must activate their offices to prevent and guarantee safety.
The PD group at the Syracuse City Councilwhich asks the administration “to know the administrative acts carried out towards the owner of the land, the commissioner in charge of the composition with creditors of the company that was to build the tourist port called ‘Archimede’ Marina. And in particular he asks whether the administration has issued orders for cleaning the land and clearing away waste”.
“Today’s images” – reports the councilors’ note PD – “they give us fire back but we still have no official news from the Municipality on what is being released into the air and what behavior to adopt”.
