Healthcare Liguria, new Government decree arriving to reduce waiting lists

“We will certainly adapt to what the ministry establishes.” The Health Councilor of the Liguria Region, Angelo Gratarola, during the ‘health point’ in the Liguria region said he was ready to implement the measures, anticipated by Minister Schillaciwhich include a cost for those who do not show up for the booked exams. “This rule, which already existed, was further highlighted by the ministry with this decree – explains Gratarola – to stimulate citizens to be educated from this point of view. In addition to the aspects that concern costs, in fact, not canceling the appointment in good time deprives another user of a slot that can no longer be used. And this creates problems for those who need it and are waiting for a visit.”

The control room on the Liguria Region’s waiting lists will meet in the next few days to define the new actions linked to the Decree launched by the Government. Among the first measures is the completion of the inclusion of the accredited private sector’s services in the agendas of the regional CUP.

“The Decree – explains Gratarola – it is part of the plan of actions already adopted in the Liguria Region. Many of the measures indicated are already in force in our region which has foreseen, in addition to expressions of interest for the accredited private sector (diagnostics, cardiac surgery, orthopaedics), the increase in budgets for companies and projects for appropriateness. In July we hope, with an active contribution from the Region, that we will be able to draw up the national waiting list governance plan (PNGLA) 2024-26. Furthermore, the control room, established by the Region, which will meet in the next few days has the function of monitoring the progress of the waiting lists and dynamically introducing any corrective measures”

“In the Government decree – adds the General Director of Alisa Filippo Ansaldi – there are useful tools such as the Agenas national platform which will allow not only to monitor waiting times, but also to verify how services are managed in relation to priority classes, ascertain the level of productivity of human and technological resources, make assessments on the appropriateness of access to services; diagnostic and specialist visits on weekends are already active in some local health authorities and will be implemented; the inclusion in the agendas of the services of the accredited private individual is already foreseen in Liguria, just as we have already taken action to define the guidelines relating to the additional services necessary to guarantee compliance with the waiting times, when booking through the CUP, this does not is possible”
