European Championships: Lazio, who are the mister preferences

From Nicola Procaccini to Ignazio Marino. Action and the list of United States of Europe do not exceed the threshold

The race that leads from Rome to Brussels is over, in Lazio the parties draw the threads of the results obtained. In the Region, the national trend is confirmed with the Brothers of Italy in the lead with 33.11 percent, followed by the Democratic Party with 22.75 percent. The 5 Star Movement confirms itself as the third party with 10.52 percent, ahead of the surprise of the Green and Left Alliance which collected 8.31 percent. Forza Italia – Noi moderates, even if it doesn’t break through, gains ground with 7.38 percent, placing itself one step higher than the League which stands at 6.64 percent.

In the end, Action and the list of United States of Europewhich unites Italy alive And More Europe, do not exceed the threshold of 4 percent at a national level and also in Lazio they stop at 3.36 and 3.86 percent respectively. Throughout the Central Italy district – composed not only of Lazio, but also of Marche, Tuscany and Umbria – Brothers of Italy and the Democratic Party obtain five seats each, then Green Alliance-left one like Forza Italia-Noi Moderati and Lega, while the M5s gets two.

With over 350 thousand votes in Lazio, of which 130 thousand in Rome, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, gets the preference record. She is followed by another Mr Preferences, the outgoing MEP Nicola Procaccini with 112,861 votes. On the third highest step of the podium the Viterbo city councilor and former councilor, Antonella Sberna, who obtained the pass for the European Parliament, placing himself ahead of the Roman candidate, Stefano Tozzi, councilor of the first municipality. Civita Di Russo, a candidacy sponsored by the president of the Lazio region, Francesco Rocca, also fails to reach Fd’I quotas.

For what concern Democratic partythe boom in preferences goes to the secretary Elly Schleinwith approximately 89,623 votes, immediately followed by the former governor Nicola Zingaretti with 89,179 preferences. In the Green and Left Alliance, with 34,706 votes the former mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino, gets the record number of votes. In second place in Lazio is the outgoing MEP, Massimiliano Smeriglio with 17,499 preferences. Following with 16,402 votes was Mayor Roberto Gualtieri’s delegate for LGBT policies, Marilena Grassadonia, who, however, obtained 24,628 votes in the entire constituency, surpassing Smeriglio (22,427).

The 5 Star Movement, on the other hand, leads to Europe Carolina Morace And Dario Tamburrano, which in Lazio obtained 20,643 and 9,851 preferences respectively. Returning to the centre-right front, Forza Italia, after the top of the list and leader Antonio Tajani who obtained 60,623 preferences, in Lazio the most voted is the outgoing MEP, Salvatore De Meo, with 38,723 votes. Worth noting is the surprise of Rossella Chiusaroli, provincial secretary in Frosinone who, despite not obtaining a ticket for Europe, recorded a haul of 24,106 preferences. The latter, sponsored by Senator Claudio Fazzone, regional coordinator of the party, was also supported by the latest addition: the vice-president of the Lazio Regional Council, Pino Cangemi, who left the League to return to Forza Italia. The former governor of Lazio Renata Polverini and the outgoing MEP Alessandra Mussolini remain outside.

In the League, the leader Roberto Vannacci obtained 50,967 preferences in Lazio. Among the local candidates, the former president of the regional council, Mario Abruzzese, and the regional secretary of the League, Davide Bordoni, obtained 23,190 and 16,344 preferences respectively. For them, despite the good result in Lazio, the Brussels seat will probably not go up, which should go to the second most voted in the entire central constituency: the outgoing MEP Susanna Ceccardi, thanks to her 33,547 preferences, behind Vannacci (114,879). Finally for Action, in Lazio the most voted is the regional councilor, Alessio D’Amato, with 8,425 preferences, behind the leader Carlo Calenda with 14,358 votes. The other excluded from Brussels is the United States of Europe list with Matteo Renzi, Emma Bonino and the regional councilor of Italia Viva, Marietta Tidei, who are the most voted.
