Once the elections were over, the Council of Ministers approved the long-awaited decree law for post-disaster reconstruction, for civil protection interventions and the holding of major international events.
The new decree provides that “for damage to movable property, destroyed or seriously damaged as a result of the flood events that occurred in the month of May 2023, present within properties owned by private entities, intended for residential use, on the date of the same flood events, the Commissioner extraordinary” recognizes, for a spending limit of 210 million euros, “a contribution commensurate with a flat rate and based on the number and type of rooms within which the movable property was located, within the limit of 3,200 euros for the room used as a kitchen, as well as within the limit of a further 700 euros for each of the others rooms, up to a maximum total amount of 6,000 euros per home, ensuring compliance with spending limits”.
This is why the objective of 100 percent reimbursement announced by the Government about a year ago is definitely moving away.
