Florence 2024 elections, final results: ballot for the new mayor

As predicted by many, a ballot will be needed to choose the new mayor of Florence: that’s what they say final results of the 2024 municipal elections. The new mayor of Florence will be decided by ballot

Both candidates, commenting on the outcome of the polls, stated that they wanted to listen to the citizens first of all, without anticipating anything about possible alliances with other political groups. The results of the preferences: the most voted city councilors

As regards the elections of the municipal councilors (36 those who will sit in the Salone dei Duegento) the final results indicate the Democratic Party as the most voted in Florencewith around 30% (over 51 thousand votes), followed by Brothers of Italywhich stands at just over 13% (more than 22 thousand preferences), on the third step of the podium is civic list in support of Eike Schmidt which garners 9.58% of the vote, with over 16 thousand votes. Behind it is the center list that supported the candidacy of Stefania Saccardi (Italia Viva), at 7.34% of the votes, equal to over 12 thousand votes.

For the Democratic Party, a woman is the champion of preferences: Letizia Perini gets 1,199 votes. Followed by Jacopo Vicini (961), Laura Sparavigna (886), Benedetta Albanese (819) and Luca Milani (812). For the center right, the top of the class are three names from the Brothers of Italy: Angela Sirello with 1,126 votes, Alessandro Draghi with 1,125 votes and Matteo Chelli with 1,010 preferences. But the most voted overall is an exponent of Italia Viva, despite the party’s less than brilliant result: Francesco Casiniformer mayor of Bagno a Ripoli, who took home 1,500 preferences.

The results of the elections in the neighborhoods of Florence

Alongside the elections for the new mayor (or new mayor) of Florence, those of the Neighborhood Councils were also held, which they all go to the center left, here are the results. The smallest advantage is in District 1 where Mirco Ruffilli he was elected with 46.38% of the votes, against the 31.43% of Maria Cristina Paoli of the center right (in fact, run-off elections are not foreseen in the constituencies). In District 2 it is confirmed Michele Pierguidi (50.11%), in his third term, while Serena Perini does an encore in Q3 with 51.43%. The best result for the center left in the constituencies is that of Mirko Dormentoni, which in District 4 wins the third mandate with 54.64%. Finally, District 5 will be led in the next 5 years by Filippo Ferrarowho now moves from councilor to the position of president, elected with 53.6%.
