Forlì, 10 June 2024 – Almost 4 million euros for material and sludge removal interventions, drainage cars, electric pumps and special vehicles.
Another million and 268 thousand euros for the new sewer system via Nervesacleaning and restoration of Ravaldino Canal and the fountain drain into viale Bologna. These are, according to the Municipality of Forlì, the main items of hope for the post-flood ’emergencies’ and ‘high emergencies’: these are necessary interventions for which the local authority has received funds from the commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo. Total: 6.5 million, plus 1.5 for infrastructure. The sum amounts to 8 million already spent on reconstruction.
The Municipality of Forlì it speaks of 16.5 kilometers of asphalted roads, 1,200 square meters of redeveloped car parks and 60 kilometers of completely rebuilt road verges. In the list there are still another 105 thousand euros for the cleaning of green areas, more than 35 thousand euros for the restoration of car parks and infrastructures managed by IMF, almost 123 thousand euros for assistance to men and vehicles of the Civil protection, 915 thousand euros for the management of sludge and the restoration of a landslide along the Montone river. Finally, another 63 thousand for the control and prevention of health risks caused by the presence of animal carcasses, insects and the proliferation of mosquitoes.
The outgoing mayor, Gian Luca Zattinispeaks of a “vast work plan that the Municipality has put in place, thanks to the commissioner’s resources Son, to make the territory safe and guarantee the restoration of public heritage affected by the flood. These are all works that we have already completed and which were necessary for the restart of our community. In recent months our technicians and the companies appointed by the Municipality have worked tirelessly in the flooded neighborhoods. We gave priority to the removal of sludge and the restoration of the sewerage system and then concentrated on roads, pavements and road appurtenances”.
The common quantifies in others 3 million euros the amount of other works financed and scheduled beyond the electoral deadline: “New important ones will start soon construction sites to road mats and sidewalks, all already approved by the commissioner structure and financed with state resources – continues Zattini –. We are talking about another 28 kilometers of roads, 1,500 square meters of parking and 12,790 square meters of sidewalks.” Among these, there is the sector of via Locchi in the neighborhood Romitiwith via Cormos And via Monte San Gabrielewhere sidewalks and road appurtenances will be redone, e via PadulliBetween Quarry And Romiti. Then there they are via Isonzo And via Pelacano in the heart of the neighborhood Saint Benedict. In recent days the Municipality had announced works for some green areas in the most affected neighbourhoods.
“Tens of roads which will be completely renovated and resurfaced by next autumn for the benefit of traffic and residents. These works are and will be the starting point of the reconstruction: infrastructure and roads, sewerage system and territory are the skeleton of a community that must and wants to start again”.
