Dramatic road accident in the afternoon along the state road 309 “Romea”. The tragic event occurred around 3:00 pm at kilometer 97, in the town of Conche, within the municipality of Codevigo (PD). Two vehicles, a Citroen C4 and a camper, collided violently, causing serious consequences.
The victims and the conditions of those involved
The couple from San Donà, who was traveling towards Padua aboard the Citroen, suffered the most serious consequences. Ignazio Bertoan 81-year-old man, died instantly, while his wife, Giovanna Buso aged 77, she was urgently transported to Padua hospital, where unfortunately she died shortly after her arrival.
One injured passenger in the camper
The driver of the camper, a German citizen, was also seriously injured in the accident. His condition was immediately stabilized by emergency services, but he remains in intensive care.
Investigations underway
The police, who promptly arrived at the scene of the accident together with the rescuers, started investigations to clarify the dynamics and causes of the collision. Road investigations are still ongoing and further details are expected in the next few hours.
