Second and last day (ballot boxes open until 11pm) for the administrative elections in 39 municipalities in the province of Genoa, and 125 in Liguria, called to elect the new mayor and renew the municipal council. At the same time we also vote for the European elections and the renewal of the European Parliament.

The definitive data on turnout at 11pm on Saturday

The first official data on turnout is that of Saturday at 11pm. As regards the European elections in Italy it is at 14.64%. In the north-west constituency it rises to 16.79%, in Liguria to 16.23%, in the metropolitan city of Genoa to 15.80%, Genoa city is at 15.39%.

As regards the municipal elections in Liguria, voting at 20.44% in the 125 municipalities involved, in the metropolitan city of Genoa at 18.66%. In 2019 the definitive turnout (Italy plus foreign constituency) at the European elections was 54.50%, highest in the north-west constituency (63.58%), in Liguria (58.50%) and in Genoa (56.57 % figure for the province, 55.05% only in the city).

When the counting begins

The counting operations for the election of the members of the European Parliament due to Italy will begin on Sunday 9 June as soon as the voter matching operations for each electoral consultation have been concluded, while the counting for the municipal elections will begin on Monday 10 June at 2 pm.

How to make a duplicate of the electoral card: offices and opening hours

In Genoa, in case of loss or running out of spaces, it is possible to ask for a duplicate of the electoral card even on election days, when the offices will be open for extended hours without reservations (only for adult identity cards and electoral cards).

As regards the municipal elections, which as mentioned in Liguria involve 125 Municipalities, just draw an X on the symbol of the preferred list with the copying pencil provided by the polling station. The gender preference rule also applies here, for municipalities over 15 thousand inhabitants separate voting is possible (and a run-off is foreseen), for those under 15 thousand inhabitants separate voting is not foreseen and a run-off only in the case of identical number of votes between two lists (as happened in 2021 in Rondanina with 22 votes per list).
