THE SUBSTITUTE – Igor Tudor’s decision is not a bolt from the blue. For weeks, the specter of the rupture that occurred after the long series of meetings with the agent Seric, the president Claudio Lotito and the sporting director Angelo Fabiani in which, inevitably, all kinds of differences emerged on how to lead the team in view of next season. Tudor, essentially, wanted a total revolution in the staff and had rejected much of last year’s transfer market: the club, however, wanted the coach to further enhance the players at his disposal after the excellent final season.
The profile, in pole position, to replace the Croatian coach is that of Marco Baroni, courted by Monza and who will leave Hellas Verona after the sumptuous salvation achieved with the Scaligeri. Other more secluded names are those of Paulo Sousa and Sergio Conceiçao: the latter was released from Porto in the last few hours after a long back and forth.
