“Another scandal is affecting the capital’s taxi drivers. Yesterday, in fact, the driver of a white car refused to let the well-known journalist and science communicator on board Alessandro Cecchi Paonejustifying the refusal with the critical positions expressed by Cecchi Paone towards the taxi category”. The episode, filmed by the camera installed on the same taxi, was reported today by Codacons, which explains that it occurred “yesterday 5 June around 3pm: 40 in Campo dè Fiori”.

The video of the refusal appeared on several social media profiles, probably published by the taxi driver himself. The images show the journalist stopping the taxi, with the car slowing down to let the customer get on board but, once he recognized Cecchi Paone, the taxi driver exclaims: “I’m sorry, I don’t want to take you because you speak badly of taxis. Go standing!”. “Uber will massacre you”, we hear Cecchi Paone reply.
The images continue with the car driving away along the streets of central Rome. “A video that also shows the codes with the references of the car responsible for the serious episode, and which will now be the subject of a formal complaint by Codacons”, thunders the consumer association. It will file a report tomorrow “with the Local Police of Roma Capitale, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Capitol, asking them to identify the taxi driver responsible for the serious act and proceed with the crime of interruption of public service, increasing the sanctions provided for by current legislation and evaluating the further disciplinary measures to be taken, including suspension of the license”
