More blood on the streets of Catania. Andrea Fiorenza passed away last night, struck down by an accident in Piano D’Api. Tragedy has struck the streets of Acireale again. Andrea Fiorenza, 26 yearsdied during the night after a week of agony following a car accident that occurred last week in via Cordovado, in the hamlet of Piano D’api.
The funeral will be celebrated tomorrow, 7 June 2024, at the Piano D’Api church at 10.
The dynamics
Last May 28th, Florence he was driving his motorcycle when he collided with a Fiat panda. Immediately afterwards, he was rescued by 118 and transported to the emergency room of the Acireale hospital. Initially hospitalized in the orthopedics department for a fractured femur, his condition worsened and the young man was transferred to intensive care.
After a week of fighting for life, Andrea Fiorenza is worn out in the night, leaving an unfillable void in the hearts of family, friends and acquaintances.
Condolences on social media
The whole community of Acireale joins the condolences expressing messages of condolences to the Fiorenza family. “We argue….we argue about useless things…..wars…….and in the end life takes a 26 year old boy from you due to a banal fatality…..we cling to our brother’s pain Carmelo Fiorenza for the loss of his nephew Andrea Fiorenza arrived like a bolt from the blue…..may the earth be light on you boy……” – writes a user -.
Then again: “No sir you can’t die so young he had a life ahead of you you can’t accept something like that a good boy seen growing up as a child together with my son today you left us an immense void we love you Andrea rest in peace” – comments another -.
The young man’s fellow citizens are not resigned to the terrible loss: “One after the other ache endlessly expanding, families, friends and the community that gathers around these families due to the premature and sudden loss of too many young lives” – writes a user -.
Another goodbye to Acireale
Another life broken by an illness, is Vincenzo Pulvirenti, 32 years, who disappeared on the morning of June 5th in Acireale. A passion for sport that led him to become referee as a very young man for the matches of Granata, a football club based in his city of origin and, later, goalkeeper. He was known by everyone as “always a boy smiling and humble”, he had been fighting a terrible illness for years. “He was an exemplary sportsman”, they say of him, he loved to pass on his passion for sport to children. Another motorcyclist died on the streets of Catania
Venerando Patanè, the 31-year-old motorcyclist from Acireale, involved in a serious road accident on the afternoon of i, in the Mangano hamlet, died at the Cannizzaro hospital in Catania. The centaur lost control of the vehicle, an MV Agusta 1090 RR, due to circumstances still in the reconstruction phase.
Once the alarm was raised, an ambulance and three local police patrols immediately came to the scene to help manage the traffic and establish the safety of the accident site. The 118 medics, considering the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the motorcyclist, requested the intervention of the air ambulance which landed shortly afterwards to transport Patanè to Cannizzaro, where he underwent a delicate surgical operation, then, around 9pm, death. Further details on the causes and dynamics of the accident are still being examined by the authorities.
