Ruzzier and Bucarelli move the scoreboard first. Trieste pushes on the accelerator from the first possessions and extends to +13. Hickey tries to lead an attempt to return the Cantù players, but the percentages from the field of the two teams are too different to allow this. Trieste finishes ahead 12-24.
Acqua S.Bernardo tries to react, but its shooting evening continues to be difficult. Moraschini unlocks Cantù with 4 consecutive points, thus allowing them to return to a two-possession deficit. Brooks and Ruzzier respond, but a triple from Cesana makes it -5. Baskets by Ruzzier and Baldi Rossi send the teams into the dressing room at 35-39.
Baldi Rossi, with a triple, brings Cantù back to a two-point deficit, but Reyes puts the guests on his shoulders and Trieste goes back nine points ahead. Bucarelli with six consecutive points brings Acqua S.Bernardo closer again. Filloy scores a heavy triple, but Cantù doesn’t give up and comes back to within two points of Trieste with 56-58 at the end of the third quarter.
Hickey explodes PalaDesio with the overtaking triple, but Reyes responds blow for blow to the Cantù players. We enter the last 4′ with Trieste ahead by two points. Filloy finds the target from midrange, Moraschini replies with the clock stopped. Reyes is unstoppable in the area and puts Trieste back ahead by 3 less than two minutes before the siren. Moraschini scores 1/2 on free throws. Reyes finds two more points and is +4. Cantù doesn’t score and Candussi closes it with a triple from the corner. It ends 73-83.
