“Strong condemnation for the vile act of defacing the electoral boards which took place near the Citadel in Parma where the posters of the candidate for the European elections of 8 and 9 June, Emiliano Occhi, were the subject of an unspeakable and anti-democratic gesture”. This was said by the group leader in the Carroccio Regional Council and secretary of the Emilia League, Matteo Rancan, expressing his solidarity with the regional councilor from Parma.
“Acts like these not only violate the rules of correct political discussion, but represent a direct attack on democracy and free expression. The League and all its representatives stand strongly against all forms of vandalism and intimidation,” declared Matteo Rancan.
Rancan wanted to express his full solidarity with Emiliano Occhi, underlining his commitment and dedication to the electoral campaign: “Emiliano is an example of seriousness and competence, and it will certainly not be an act of vandalism that will stop his determination and his work to best represent citizens.”
“The League will continue to carry out its campaign with transparency and respect for the rules, confident that citizens will be able to distinguish those who work for the common good from those who try to intimidate and sabotage” concluded Rancan.
