Accident in the Civitavecchia eco-centre, where a worker was hit by a lorry, ending up in hospital. From initial reconstructions it seems that a maneuvering vehicle lost control, injuring him.
The events took place yesterday mid-morning, in the CSP area located in an industrial area. Two trucks are at the Civitavecchiese ecological island, intent on unloading the waste material which is then disposed of.
One vehicle is located following the other, in the “circuit” area (in fact, after approval for the unloading of the materials by the subsidiary’s staff, you are directed to the appropriate skip, passing with cars and vans in a circuit which then redirects to the exit) where the collection containers are located.
As mentioned, the vehicles were one behind the other and the respective drivers were busy unloading when, during a manoeuvre, one got back on his truck while the other remained on the ground. And here the accident occurred: the truck hits the worker. CSP staff rush in and an ambulance is called. A patrol of the Civitavecchia Local Police is also brought to the scene to reconstruct the events. There is apprehension because the injured man, according to the stories of those present, would have fractures in both of his lower limbs. A circumstance that has not yet been confirmed. There is certainly a rush of rescuers to the San Paolo hospital for the necessary treatment but the diagnosis has not been made known. The Municipality has the task of understanding what happened, even if the dynamics seem quite clear.
To allow the traffic police to work, the Civitavecchia eco-centre was closed for a couple of hours, with easily imaginable consequences for all those who had to use the services of the ecological island. Therefore they were forced to return before closing time or to postpone the delivery to the next few days.
