Five victims at work in Padua and Verona, three in Venice, one in Vicenza, Treviso and Belluno. This is the overall report for the first quarter in Veneto provided by the “Occupational Safety and Environment Vega Engineering” observatory of Mestre. Overall, with 16 victimsVeneto is still in the “white zone”, with amortality incidence well below the national average. Among the provinces, only Belluno is in the red zone, while Venice and Padua in the yellow zone and the remainder in the white zone. Compared to last year, they stand out 13 fewer deaths (-45%), but total accident reports increase (+2.8%).
«Four deaths a month. Compared to the end of April 2023, like last month, there is still a more than significant decrease in mortality of 45% – underlines Mauro Rossato, President of the Observatory – The deaths recorded in the first four months of last year, in fact , there were 29. And with this comforting trend of 2024, Veneto is in the ‘white zone’ in the first quarter of the year. The reduction in fatal accidents, however – adds Rossato – does not find correspondence in total accidents, i.e. the sum of fatal and non-fatal accidents, for which there was instead an, albeit minimal, increase of 2.8%”.
