For manslaughter
This morning, before the Criminal Assisi Court, the trial began against the young Fedele Filippo, aged 24, from Bellinzona, domiciled in Locarno, accused of manslaughter in the person of the commercial traveler Pietro Camia. The fact that it has reached its epilogue today is known to readers, as we, last autumn, described it extensively in the local news: on the road from Aranno to Iseo, Fedele was driving a motorcycle, on the back seat of which he had taken place his friend Camia Pietro. Suddenly the motorcyclist found himself in the presence of the large car of Messrs Ithen, from Lugano, and to avoid the collision he swerved to the left, without being able to avoid the misfortune: the two were picked up seriously injured and Camia died in our hospital (that of Lugano, note from 100 years later). This morning at the trial the young Fedele showed up still seriously bruised on his left foot. The Civil Party is represented in the persons of the deceased’s widow, Mrs Tranquilla Camia, and her father-in-law, Mr Giuseppe Camia, respectively assisted by the lawyers Plinio Bolla and Angelo Dazzi. The lawyer Aldo Veladini, mayor of Lugano, defends the Fedele; the PP lawyer. Brenno Gallacchi supports the accusation and the Court is presided over by the judge Mr. Lawyer. Gaspare Gatti. Mr. Ing. Andreoni, director of the Verzasca workshop, is cited as an expert. The trial begins after 9.30 am: the lawyer Bolla immediately raises the issue by rejecting the engineer as a witness. Andreoni for his position as director of a company dependent on the municipality of Lugano, directed by mayor Veladini, defender of the accused.
