“A frank and cordial dialogue, with good prospects for the future of the Melfi industrial district“, so commented the President Bardi the meeting with the CEO Tavares of the Stellantis group held today in Melfi.

“The recognition of the role that the Melfi plant continues to have in the group’s industrial policies is important, with the confirmation of the production plan already announced and the upcoming entry into production of the Jeep Compass Mild Hybrid which, when fully operational, will determine a productive commitment with 15 shifts over five days, restoring both production and employment sustainability to the plant.
This decision could also give breathing space to related companies, a topic that is at the center of the regional government’s attention”.
Bardi also reiterated the Region’s willingness to do its part to strengthen the competitiveness factors of the Melfi plant and the entire industrial sector also taking on part of the costs relating to energy needs.
On this point he reserved the right to present a proposal shortly.
The President also reiterated the commitment, in concert with the national government, to enhance all the tools that can contribute to the relaunch of the sector.
During the meeting Bardi was also the bearer of a letter from the mayor of Melfi in which the concerns and wishes of the territory are represented and the joint commitment of all the institutions to continue to enhance the skills and experiences of the industrial district, a fundamental sector for the regional economy and society.
