A 25-year-old was burned while trying to put out the flames that were coming out of a fryer. The accident occurred on the evening of June 3 in a pizzeria in Vimercate (Monza) and the place was declared temporarily unusable.

There fryer of a take-away pizzeria in Vimercate (in the province of Monza and Brianza) caught fire yesterday evening, Monday 3 June. The causes of the fire are not yet known, although it seems certain that it was a accident. A 25-year-old employee of the restaurant apparently suffered burns the boiling oil as he tried to put out the flames and was transported to hospital.
It was almost 8pm on June 3rd when a fryer in a pizzeria in Vimercate caught fire. A start of fire which alerted everyone present, including customers. The first to intervene would have been an employee of the restaurant: the 25-year-old would have approached the machine and had tried to put out the flames. During his attempts, however, he came into contact with boiling oil which burned him.
Shortly afterwards the firefighters arrived from Monza with a fire engine and managed to tame the fire before it could expand further and cause more extensive damage to the premises. In the end, only the smoke he managed to invade the various rooms of the pizzeria. However, the structure was declared temporarily unusableawaiting safety checks and cleanup.

Together with the firefighters, whose intervention is lasted about a couple of hours, the 118 staff also arrived with an ambulance and a medical vehicle. The injured 25-year-old, after receiving initial treatment on site, was transported under code yellow to the San Gerardo hospital in Monza. THE carabinieri of the Vimercate Company reached the venue in the evening and are carrying out the necessary checks.
