The Franconian paintings meet generations

BRA – An exhibition of artistic creations resulting from a meeting between generations: the elderly of the “Mario Francone” residence in Bra and the students of the “Mafalda di Savoia” primary school in the Pollenzo hamlet. It was inaugurated last week at the retirement home in via Umberto I and will remain open to the public, free entry, until the end of August from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm.

The initiative was entitled “Life in art” and made use of the collaboration of the painters Francesco Gotta and Francesca Semeraro with the writer Pino Berrino, as well as the teachers of the young students. The inauguration was also an opportunity to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of the guests of the structure managed by Monika Caracuda, Mrs. Silvia.

Caracuda herself, in a statement to the “Corriere” thanking all those who collaborated, says: «All together we wanted to activate the creativity of the elderly and young people by transforming the art object into a place of dialogue, discussion and relationship in in which the meeting, the discovery of the other, takes on centrality”. An opportunity for the “Francone” to “share experiences and knowledge” with children “transmitting not only historical facts but also values, tradition and accumulated wisdom”. The workshops and the exhibition are part of the activities of this shelter to open its doors to the community of which it feels an integral part. «The same doors – concludes Caracuda – that we invite you to cross, to discover a dimension of new humanized and community welfare».
