Italy is all gold on the third day of the Under 23 European Championships: in Antalya, at the debut of the team competitions, three Italian gold medals arrive in as many competitions at the sunset of a perfect Monday which celebrates the anniversary of the 115th in the best possible way years since the birth of the Italian Fencing Federation.

A triumph marked by the two foil teams, men’s and women’s, and by the sabers’ formation. A golden hat-trick that gives Italy victory in the Nations Medal Table with a day to spare in the continental competition. The first triumph of the day is that of the women’s foil with the signatures of Anna Cristino, Aurora Grandis, Giulia Amore and Matilde Calvaneseathlete born and raised in Jesi Fencing Club.

The Italian team, followed closely by the maestros Maria Elena Proietti and Alessandro Puccini, members of the technical staff of head coach Stefano Cerioni, started the match with a large 45-22 victory over Romania. In the semi-final the Italians got the better of Germany with a score of 45-33, thus entering the final for the gold. In the title match, the Italians, assault after assault, widened the gap against Ukraine by winning the continental title thanks to the final 45-37.
