A column of thick, black smoke. This is what alarmed the residents who live close to the Ausa stream, between Via Aldo Moro and the Nuova Circonvallazione yesterday afternoon, around 2.20pm, where a high column of smoke rose from a corner of reeds and brushwood where it was a small open-air landfill is hidden. In fact, it would have been some tires and other scrap metal thrown into the reeds near the ring road that caught fire. There, for reasons still being ascertained, a spark became a fire, starting to devour meters and meters of reeds going up the Marecchia park.
The alarm was immediately raised by some residents, who crowded in dozens along the embankment to watch the fire spread. Shortly thereafter, the firefighters arrived with a police and municipal patrol in support. The firefighters therefore took steps to completely extinguish the fire in a short time, although it was still necessary to delimit the area and prevent passage since a gas cylinder completely blackened by the flames was also found in the open-air landfill, but fortunately it turned out to be empty.
Now it will be determined what caused the fire, even if the place had already been the scene of a similar episode in the past, the cause of a stunt that ended badly.
