The Customs and Monopolies Agency launches the new Gold Number lottery, the Gioco del Lotto active for an experimental period from 12 June. An optional and complementary lottery to the lotto game.

A new lottery called Numero Oro il Gioco del Lotto is coming, active for an experimental period starting from 12 June this year. To announce it through a directorial determination is the Customs and Monopolies Agency which also describes its functioning. Based on what we read in the official document we are talking about an llottery “optional and complementary to the Lotto game”. Furthermore, playing Lotto “does not necessarily involve placing a bet with the Gold Number option”.
On the other hand, the choice of this option in the experimental phase involves “the combination of the additional bet with the Lotto game bet which in any case remains distinct, even if reported on a single receipt”. The gold number is identified with the fifth number drawn from each wheel of the Lotto game. The win with this option is achieved in the event of a match between the Gold Number, identified for each wheel, and any of the numbers predicted in the Lotto game on the same wheel”.
Participation in this new gaming formula occurs in three modes: “by filling out the game slip, also via digital devices, which indicates participation in the “Numero Oro il Gioco del Lotto” gaming formula; communicating verbally to the receiver, when playing the Lotto game, the desire to participate; through remote participation on the gaming channels made available by authorized sales points and according to the methods indicated in the relevant legislation.”
The amount of the bet “is equal to the amount chosen for the Lotto game bet to which it is combined. In the case of a bet on multiple lots, the amount of the bet for participation in the “Numero Oro il Gioco del Lotto” gaming formula, overall equal to the amount chosen for the bet on the Lotto game to which it is combined, is divided into the stakes defined for each lot, in analogy with the distribution for the Lotto game.” In the case of a bet on several consecutive competitions “the total amount to be paid for the bets made is equal to the sum of the amounts necessary for each single game of the Lotto game and the game formula “Gold Number The Lotto Game”.
The amount of the win “is determined by the product of the relevant stake times the multiplier shown in the attached Table 1, which constitutes an integral part of this provision”. Furthermore, playing this new formula “allows participation in all the winning categories foreseen on the basis of the correspondence between the predicted numbers and those identified”. The winnings obtained from this option “add to any winnings obtained from the Lotto game, within the limits established by the 1982 law”. Finally, the same withholding taxes applied for the Lotto game apply to winnings.
