As in game 1, the second semi-final match between Virtus Segafredo Bologna and Umana Reyer Venezia also saw the hosts win in the photo finish: 79-78 the final result which brings Luca Banchi’s men 2-0 in the series and beats Venice back against the wall.
The protagonist in the final who was decisive for Virtus to win this game 2 was undoubtedly Isaia Cordinier: the Frenchman participated in the last three actions of the match, deciding all of them for the better for his team: with Reyer above by one point 20″ from the end he suffered a breakthrough from Rayjon Tucker; in the next attack he earned the foul and the free throw, scoring both free throws with 4″ left; on the last play he forced a turnover on a totally confused Tucker at the buzzer.
Three crucial plays to win a game: from a possible 1-1 in the series to an incredible 2-0.
Cordinier, despite scoring only 10 points in 25 minutes, was the supporter of the end of a match that Virtus threw away and then recovered at the last second.
Appointment for race 3 on Wednesday at the Taliercio in Venice.
