F3 Monaco, Feature Race | Vince Minì, new championship leader. Fornaroli 5th

There F3 Feature Race of the 2024 Monaco round was won by Gabriele Minì. The pilot Prema Racing managed to conquer Monte Carlo after the second consecutive pole in the Principality, finally managing to climb to the top of the rankings. The Alpine Academy driver from Palermo controlled the race, which was complicated by the Safety Car coming in three times. The last neutralization occurred from lap 23 to lap 26, conceding to the drivers a final heart-pounding lap.

Leonardo Fornaroli has been displaced from the lead in the standings, fifth after a fabulous start. The Piacenza area slips to third place in the rankings. Fourth Arvid Lindblad, young driver of the Red Bull Junior Team working for Prema Racing. Sixth place for Dino Beganovic, only Ferrari Driver Academy driver in the championship.

Chronicle of the Feature Race in Monaco

Minì remains in the lead and controls, excellent start for Fornaroli

  • Minì holds the lead from poleWhile Fornaroli gains positions, leaving Saint-Devote in fifth place. At the rear, Wurz crashes into the Portier after a contact with Wisnicki, forcing the Race Direction to order the Safety Car to be brought in to remove his damaged car.
  • At the restart Minì creates a good safety margin from Mansell, who in turn manages to distance himself from Browning, Lindblad, Fornaroli and Beganovic.
  • Nothing changes in the lead for over fifteen lapswith Mansell trying to close on Minì, without reducing the gap to less than half a second. Behind them no one manages to get close to their direct opponent: the top six have a margin between them that does not allow attacks.

Minì controls the Safety Car festival

  • On the 20th lap Tsolov hits Leon at Mirabeau Haute, while Meguetounif arrives long at the same curve. A constraining bottleneck is therefore created to a new neutralizationwhich lasts two laps.
  • After two laps, the green flag reopens the hostilities: everything unchanged in the leading positions, while in the core of the group van Hoepen, fighting with Loake, crashes at the exit of the Tabaccaio curve, irreparably damaging his car and the protective Tec-Pros on the outside. Everything seems to be moving towards the conclusion of the race under the Safety Car regime or, even, an early interruption with a red flag, given the impossibility of restoring the safety conditions of the track in time, after the removal of Art’s Dallara #24 Grand Prix.
  • Halfway through the 26th pass, surprisingly the Race Direction announces the return of the Safety Car. In one turn everything is decided. Minì manages to extend maintaining a safety margin and so does everyone, who perhaps thinks more about defending themselves than attacking. A masterful Minì winsahead of Mansell, Browning, Lindblad, Fornaroli and Beganovic.
