Sunday 26 May 2024 – “I express satisfaction with this day, an event that represents an important and significant opportunity for meeting and reflection for everyone. A joyful moment that saw many young people, regardless of the uncertain weather, animate the historic center of the capital city of Basilicata from morning until evening, transforming it into an open, active and attractive space. An open-air stage where they showcased their talents, they expressed the need to feel listened to and to be protagonists both of their own growth path and of the context in which they live”.
This is stated by President of the Regional Council of Basilicata, Carmine Cicalacommenting on the “Student Day”the event organized by the Student Councils of Basilicata, scheduled today in Potenza.
Many initiatives for the 16,390 students from all over the province. A program full of activities, speeches and shows, in the name of innovation, sport, art and music. And it is precisely this last art form, the universal language of humanity, that the Regional Council of Basilicata intended to pay homage by participating in the organization of a musical event organized by the Opera Live Ensemble, directed by Maestro Vincenzo Terrana, held in the atrium of the City Palace, in Piazza Matteotti in Potenza.
The Ensemble Opera Live, made up of 10 musicians and a singer, captured the attention of those present with the interpretation of iconic soundtracks in the history of cinema and pieces of pop music.
“We decided as a regional council to participate in the creation of a musical event – states Cicala – because convinced of the power of music.
An art that becomes a tool capable of amplifying the emotions of young people, increasing creativity and shaping their life path.”
“As President of the Regional Council of Basilicata – underlines Cicala – I have always considered dialogue with young people a fundamental priority.
Their energy, ideas and enthusiasm are the lifeblood of our region’s future. In recent years, we have worked intensely to implement a series of projects.
Among these, I would like to mention the program “Next Generation. Builders of the future”, an initiative that highlighted the protagonism of young people, which shed light on the extraordinary strength of aspirations which, if released and supported, can become a horizon of collective meaning. I firmly believe that investing in young people means investing in the present and future of Basilicata.
