A 44-year-old woman was reported by the Traffic Police of Giardini Naxos, in the province of Messina, after causing a road accident near the Taormina junction. The 44-year-old, drunk behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level five times over the legal limit, fortunately did not suffer any injuries and no other vehicles were involved in her accident.

According to what has been reconstructed by the police, the accident occurred late yesterday evening, Friday 24 May, when the vehicle, driven by the woman, has violently bumped against the wall of the tunnel adjacent to the Taormina junction. As already mentioned, the driver was not injured in the crash.
