A motorbike accident and a very long rehabilitation process that lasted almost two years: Davide, originally from Genoain recent days he returned to Piacenza to thank the 118 professionals who had rescued him in Marsaglia in June 2022.
The emotional meeting took place at Bobbio hospital. The 27-year-old tracked down and contacted nurse Cristian Sorrentino and rescue driver Luca Bulla via social media in recent months and asked to see them in person. As he told the two doctors, the consequences of the accident affected his life for almost two years, including interventions and rehabilitation. Just a few weeks ago he underwent one last operation to remove some plaques. During the motorcycle accident, which occurred at Casa Cantoniera in Marsaglia, the young man had in fact suffered several open fractures and internal injuries.

Davide was traveling on a motorbike and, due to problems with the vehicle itself, it ended up against a wall and was thrown to the edge of the road, below road level.
In the first days, the prognosis was guarded: admitted to intensive care, was in a coma and there was fear for his life. Then his condition progressively improved and Davide was able to undertake his long journey of rehabilitation.
Once the recovery is complete, the young man wanted to greet the people who attended at the site of the accident and were the first step in the long journey to return to a normal life and work as a goldsmith and watchmaker in the Ligurian capital.
Accompanied by his girlfriend, Davide reached Bobbio on his motorbike: despite the accident, he has not lost his passion for two wheels. “I keep a small piece of the destroyed motorbike as a warning and as a good luck charm,” he explained to the two professionals 118.
The evocative meeting moved everyone: Davide thanked Cristian and Luca who, just under two years ago, rescued him on a cliff overlooking the Trebbia, almost 30 meters below road level.
